OZ Electric Vehicles
OZ Electric Vehicles was established by Graeme Manietta in Brisbane, Australia.
In 2007, Graeme completed his first Suzuki Swift conversion to electric. He continues to drive that car today.
He has his own charge station at home and at the workshop, operating from battery storage from solar power, which charges his electric vehicles.
He was asked by friends to do an electric conversion for them and in the process over time, with hard learning, effort and time, he designed ‘plug and play’ systems with his own IP in Can Bus Battery Management Systems and the batteries are designed for the perfect fit vs range vs vehicle weight.
DIY Electric Vehicles was created in which Graeme teaches others to Do-It-Yourself Electric Conversions. The course became popularised by simple, practical, and predicable error quarantining with his kits he created. These made the project successful for all people interested in converting their petrol / diesel vehicle to electric.
Graeme has created an enthusiasts following around the world for free advice, fleet consultation, as the only person in the world doing factory electric batteries upgrades with his unique codes to recycled cars.
He is starting a battery recycling plant and has created the only functional DIY course available in Australasia for DIY car conversions.
He has been the spine in the industry when all laughed at him for trying back in the day, but now he is held as the ‘dad’ in the industry.
There was a slow uptake for this role until 2020. Every installer in Australia he has taught or has one of kits. He manufactures parts to assist the industry and even drop ships batteries to save money for installers globally for factory battery upgrades.
His generosity has been acknowledged and respected around the globe and he regularly teaches his own project work on his social media as the projects roll through the garage doors.
Graeme continues to do bespoke projects for people from large speed boats, racing cars, the run-around car, and particularly classic cars.
Graeme Manietta
As a young toddler, he was mesmerized by the shiny red tin car that sat in his playroom. It was his favourite toy, and he spent hours pushing it around, pretending to drive it on grand adventures. Little did anyone know that this innocent playtime hobby would lead to a lifelong passion for automobiles, and eventually, to a career as one of the world's leading experts in electric vehicle conversions.
